Paris  The 3rd community developers meeting for the tranSMART Foundation took place in Paris, France on Nov. 5 – 7, 2013. Amsterdam – A tranSMART Developer and User Meeting took place on June 17-19, 2013 hosted at VU Medical Center. The meeting, organized by CTMM TraIT, IMI eTRIKS and the tranSMART Foundation, focused on further development of the ‘tranSMART core’ and defining the joint open source roadmap for further tranSMART development in the coming 6 months. San Francisco – AMIA (American Medical Informatics Association) 2013 Joint Summit on Translational Science took place on March 19-22, 2013. The tranSMART Foundation presented a panel presentation “tranSMART: An Open Source and Community-Driven Informatics and Data Sharing Platform for Clinical and Translational Research” and two poster presentations “tranSMART PostgreSQL Collaborative Effort” and “Integrating NCIBI Tools into tranSMART”. London – The first tranSMART workshop for developers took place on Feb. 25-27, 2013 at Imperial College London. Yike Guo, PI for eTRIKS and CTO of the tranSMART Foundation, briefed workshop attendees on tranSMART’s current status and future developments. Ann Arbor – The first community kickoff meeting for the tranSMART Foundation took place in Ann Arbor, Michigan on Feb. 12-13, 2013. Co-CEOs Brian Athey and Michael Braxenthaler updated attendees on the current status and goals of the newly created tranSMART Foundation.
